Injection Pressure Regulator - 1994-2003
Rough running, poor performance, hard hot starts could be due to a faulty or worn IPR. Located on the back of the High Pressure Oil Pump (HPOP), this unit requires a deep well socket, 1 1/8" to remove. It does not require any LocTite or sealant as the o-ring seals the unit to the pump.
For the Ford 7.3L 1994 - 2003 Diesels. We have verified with Ford that this newer IPR will replace the 1994.5-1995 7.3s that originally came with the IPR with the edge filter.
The package No LONGER INCLUDES is a new weather-tight grommet for the electrical harness plug. If Needed Order Part number 14-001 or select checkbox for a new seal.

Here is a plug that will make the job easier with little or no cleanup afterwards. This plug will tightly seal the IPR opening with no additional loss of oil into the engine valley. Simply push it in and pull it back out when you are ready to re-install the IPR after servicing it.
